☀️ Our Purpose

Welcome to
Home Solar Panels Ireland

This site exists because the Irish solar market is full of installers selling and very few independent voices explaining. We are not solar installers. We do not take referral fees. We do not recommend specific companies. And we deliberately do not publish SEAI grant figures that might be out of date by the time you read them.

What we do: explain solar in plain English, in an Irish context, so you can make a decision that is right for your home — not one that is right for whoever is trying to sell you a system.

What We Cover

Irish homeowners have three core questions before going solar. We answer all of them honestly:

  • Does solar work in Ireland? — Yes. Here is the science, the irradiance data and the Germany comparison that settles the question.
  • Is it worth it? — For most owner-occupiers, yes. We explain the situations where it is and where it is not.
  • What does it cost? — We give you typical ranges by home size and tell you what to look for in a quote.
  • How does installation work? — What to expect, how long it takes, what questions to ask.

☀️ Does Solar Work in Ireland?

Modern solar panels generate electricity from daylight, not direct sunshine. Ireland gets enough solar resource for panels to be economically viable in every county — south and east get more, but even the north-west gets enough.
